In my head I have this whole AU where Lily forgives Severus fifth year, and Severus, Regulus Black, and Lily become this new sort of Trio (only much more interesting than Harry, Hermione and Ron IMHO).

Two Slytherin boys and a Gryffindor girl. One a pure blood, one a muggle born, and one a half-blood. Regulus loves Severus, Severus loves Lily, Lily adores Regulus, Severus loves Regulus but is confused and conflicted by those feelings. Ah, the drama, the sweetness, the angst and the fanfic fodder...

I'm not sure what they're brewing and why, but it seems to be a sort of clandestine affair.

Oh, and the cat is Lily's. It's name is Mittens. Severus is mortified by the lack of originality, of course. It's grown rather attached to Regulus though, by the looks of it.
